The Scrappery CT - 'magic'

Good morning beautiful creative people, Lydia back finally to share another project. It's been a long time! It's been a crazy start to the year and getting used to grade 12 and all that it has install for me this year, including the huge workload that has taken weeks to get used to. But I am finally on top and ready to get fully organised and start creating and sharing again.

What better way to start sharing again with the brand new 'Olivia' kits. These kits are so sunning filled with the beautiful pastel colours of the new Cocoa Vanilla Studio collection 'More Than Words'.

So today I am sharing my first creation of a 12x12 layout using these kits.

I always find it so easy to create using colours and elements that I love. So working with the pinks, blues and butterflies this layout came together quite quick.

For this layout I did go for a more minimalistic style using the vellum black and white florals with the pops of pinks and corals from the butterflies. I also love the contrast from the greys to the bold black of those gorgeous Thickers.

Of course I had to add some dimension using these KaiserCraft florals as a cluster under the photo.

On the opposite bottom side of the image to the KiaserCraft florals, I added a few pieces of ephemera from the ephemera pack as well as a ever beautiful flair from the collection. I also added some enamel dots/hearts around the whole layout too.

Over the whole layout are fussy cut butterflies from one of the 12x12 papers. I paired the butterflies with some of the vellum florals. I love how they are give the feeling that they are fling around the page.

And that is my first project using these kits. My fingers are crossed that you all receive your kits very soon to be able to start creating with such beautiful products.

Have a great Sunday.

The Scrappery CT - 'me.'

Hello Scrappery friends, Lydia here finally back sharing for 2018. 2018 is going to be a big year, as I enter my final year of schooling in Grade 12 and getting ready for my future which will defiantly still include creating.

I'm so excited to have started the year with the gorgeous 'Willow' Kits to create with. I'm so in love with all the bright colours in the kits featuring the Crate Paper collection 'Cool Vibes'. So to start off the year I'm sharing a 12x12 traditional layout using the 'Willow' kits.

Now when I first opened my kits my eye was caught on the bright colours but also the little ampersands that I found in the ephemera pack which made me cut some out of the patterned papers in the TSK  as the made feature of the layout. I also hand stitched around a few of the ampersand which you will see in some of the close up images.

I absolutely love the colours in these kits, their just sooooo me!!
This layout was ended up turning into a page about me and just being and loving  myself hence why I used the shiny gold glitter Thickers which can be found the 'Willow' PLK.

I am all about self love so when  saw this ephemera piece I fell in love with it and knew I had to use it with a photo of myself. In this image you can also see one of the ampersands that I hand stitched around.

Now you all know I love my clustes of embellishments so I did them next two 3-4 ampersands using little pieces from the ephemera pack as well as in one of the clusters using one of the beautiful charms which had a cactus on it. I than finished the clusters with a few little rhinestones.

I did add a few little stamped sentiments using the stamp set from the 'Cool Vibes' collection.

I hope you have all received your 'Willow' kits by now and are enjoying creating with them as much I have been. Make sure to be sharing your creations using all the kits over on the Facebook Group too.

I hope you all have a lovely week adhered and I will be back soon with another project.

Scrap Matrix DT - Paper Artsy Tags

Lydia, back again today to share my second project for the month featuring Paper Artsy. Today I am sharing a set of three days using a range of projects from the Scrap Matrix store and featuring E³ Emma Godfrey 03 stamp set from Paper Artsy.

First thing I did was grab some tags from my stash, using a small palette knife added some Dylusions Paint in the colours Bubblegum Pink and Rose Quartz. I also love how fast these Dylsuions Paints dry too.

I wanted to build some light layers on these tags so I used the Tim Holtz - Lace Stencil and sprayed some of my favourite Dylusions Inks in the colours Rose Quartz and Laidback Lilac. Although the inks did run a bit when I sprayed them, I like the effect that gave.

I then used the E³ Emma Godfrey 03 stamp set from Paper Artsy and stamped onto some plain white card and fussy cut them out. And to adhere them to the tags I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry adhesive.

Last but not least I added a few textural items including Finnabair by Prima Art Glass Beads in the colour Zinc and some Finnabair by Prima Art Ingredients Mica Flakes in the colour Mulberry.

And now for some close up photos.

I hope you all liked these tags. Also be sure to head over to the Scrap Matrix Shares Facebook Group to be able to enter this months Paper Artsy challenge, you have 5 days!!! I will be back next month with more projects.

Scrap Matrit DT - Paper Artsy Bauble December Challenge

Happy New Year Scrap Matrix friends. Lydia back to share my December Paper Artsy challenge project which is a DIY bauble and tag using their stamp set E³ Emma Godfrey 03 which you can find over in the Scrap Matrix store.

This was the perfect project to do for December as it is the month of Christmas and decorations.

Using some plain white cardstock I stamped the beautiful journaling card looking stamp from the Paper Artsy stamp set E³ Emma Godfrey 03 and cut it out. I hole punched it to be able to thread some twine through and finished it with a quick Merry Christmas and Happy New Year message.

And on the reverse side of the tag I again used the Paper Artsy stamp set E³ Emma Godfrey 03 with the triangle to give the tag a featured side. That made the tag finished. Quick, simple and effective.

My favourite part of this project was definately choosing what stamps to use from the Paper Artsy E³ Emma Godfrey 03 stamp set, there were so many to choose from. So this bauble has both a front and back side and is simply made out of cardstock, Dylusions and the beautiful stamp set.

To do the background I started with a piece of cardstock and used the colours Bubblegm Pink, Calypso Teal and Pomegranate Seed, Dylusion inks. Once that had dried I picked out the words smile, camera shy, photography and click from the E³ Emma Godfrey 03 Paper Artsy stamp set ad stamped them on directly onto the Dylusions background.

I than added a little feature to both side using just a stamp from the E³ Emma Godfrey 03 set just stamping it onto plain white cardstock and cutting them out.

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and are ready to get creative with the Scrap Matrix challenges. Be sure to head over to the Scrap Matrix Shares Facebook Group to enter the Paper Artsy challenge which runs through to the 15th.

Have a great week ahead.

Scrap Matrix DT - 7 Dot's Cards

Hello, I hope you are all enjoying this months challenge and seeing all the DT's projects. I am back again to share my second project using 7 Dot's. I have to say I am enjoying creating projects using the 7 Dot's collection 'Writers Block' even though it definately isn't in my confront zone of creating with those colours but what would it be if it wasn't a challenge right?

For my second project using the 'Writers Block' collection I have created two cards.

I had a lot of fun layering different pieces while starting with a base on the card with some patterned paper from the collection.

Within my layers on my cards I used the same 4 elements, a tag from the collection, a Prima flower, Finnabair by Prima wood veneer cog and gears and a metal flower. I wanted to add a bit of colour to the colours. As I am sure you all know the colours in this collection don't in to me so I got out my Tim Holtz Distress Ink in the colour Lilac. I than coloured the wooden gears and cogs with the distress ink as well as going around the outside of the card.

And to finish the cards off I added a little sentiment using Vicki Boutin Mixed Media Stickers.

I really love how these cards turned out and that I was able to get outside of my creative confront zone and create with something I defiantly wouldn't use, but that's the point of the challenge hey?
I hope you are all enjoying this months challenge and I am loving seeing everyone's entries over on the Scrap Matrix Shares Facebook group. If you haven't joined the Facebook group, be sure to pop over and join to keep up to date with the DT's projects, creative shares from Scrap Matrix customers an of course our monthly challenges. I'll see you all soon with another project.

The Scrapper CT - 'Dream BIG'

Hi Scrappery fans, Lydia back finally to share a layout using the beautiful Violet Kits. It' been a while since I was here on the blog due to a crazy few months finishing Grade 11 at school, but I am now back and ready for 8 full weeks of creating and sharing.

Today's layout I am sharing features the stunning 'Bohemian Dream' collection from Cocoa Vanilla Studio which is in the Violet Kits. I love this collection which has a lot of purple which is hard to find in scrapbooking collections.

Here is my layout featuring a dream catcher.

I absolutely love how this turned out and I have to say it is one of my favourite layouts.

For this title I used the pink Thickers that came in the kits and the gorgeous Cocoa Vanilla Studio chipboard pieces for the word 'BIG'.

I layered a few of the floral pieces which can be found in the ephemera pack to place around the dream catcher which is made out of layered patterned paper from the collection as well as those beautiful and delicate doilies which are found in the kits.

I did some fringing to make some feathers to fall off the dream catcher using some of the beautiful patterned paper from Cocoa Vanilla.

Again I have to say this is one of my favourite layouts that I have done and I can't wait to create some more with these kits.

I'll be back really soon with another project.

Scrap Matrix DT - 7 Dots November Challenge

Hi Scrap Matrix blog readers, Lydia back to share my November 7 Dots challenge project.

Now if you are a fan of 7 Dots and know my style and colours I use, you will instantly know that 7 Dot's isn't my typical colour palette and I definitely wouldn't buy it if I had a choice. But by using the 7 Dots collection 'Writer's Block' I created a project that even surprised boss lady Vicki haha.

So here is my project.

To be honest I surprised myself  how easily I was able to create with these rust and neutral colours. I had fun layering too.

I can tell that you are thinking how did you create that rusty cog. Well fun fact it is an old and naturally rusted concrete cutting saw and it worked perfectly for this project and even co-ordinated with the colours in the 7 Dot's collection I was using.

Now aren't these Prima Flowers stunning and perfect for the colours in the 'Writers Block' collection which you can find in the Scrap Matrix store HERE.

I had some fun layering all the different patterned papers from the collection including a die cut tag from the collection.

And how cute are these tickets from the die cut sheet too.

I hope you have all be enjoyed by my creation and all the other creative designers with their projects too for this challenge. If you want to join in on our monthly challenges be sure to head over to our Facebook group Scrap Matrix Shares to share and join in on the fun Scrap Matrix challenges.

Have a great day/evening and I hope to see you all over on the Facebook group.
